The Story Behind Ulla
Ulla was founded by Shawn Schwegman — a serial entrepreneur, operator, and growth strategist with three decades of experience building and scaling companies at the intersection of technology, marketing, and AI.
Shawn's career reads like a masterclass in digital growth. As CTO and VP of Marketing at Overstock.com, he was instrumental in driving the company's revenue from $3M to over $800M in just five years — overseeing marketing, technology, customer service, logistics, and operations. As CMO at ChaCha, he helped grow the platform from 12 million to over 80 million monthly visits in under three years, making it a top-40 U.S. website and a top-5 U.S. mobile destination.
He co-founded DemandJump, an AI-powered marketing intelligence platform that helps companies identify exactly where to focus their time and spend to drive revenue. He has advised and led more than a dozen startups across his career — many of which delivered significant exits — and has served in virtually every C-suite role: CEO, COO, CMO, CRO, CTO, CPO, and CSO.
Today, Shawn's singular focus is growth — and Ulla is his most ambitious bet yet. Born from firsthand frustration with fragmented AI tools and a deep belief that agents should do real work safely, Ulla is built for the way modern businesses actually operate.
